The Fabric of Our Lives

Bare Hands Presents: The View From Here is a free, six-part community arts series that has been funded by a City of Birmingham Community Arts Grant. Rooted in perspective, identity, culture, and place—it invites people to share their own stories and hear the stories of others.

Part 2: The Fabric of Our Lives - a free intergenerational community arts day of making art from everyday items with local artists! The Fabric of Our Lives focuses on each of us creating art in the company of community.
Saturday March 14
11am - 3pm
Woodlawn Theatre

Featuring: Darlena King (T-Shirt Pillows & 9-Square Pillows), Vero Vanblaere (Sock Buddies), Wilhelmina Thomas (Visible Mending & Story Quilt Blocks), Julie Carpenter (Embossed Art from Aluminum Cans), Brianna Payne (Small Hands Corner - Children' s Community Tapestry)

Join us for a day of creativity and fun! Come and go or stay the whole time! Make a piece or two to take with you. Get inspiration for projects to create in the future. Feel free to bring a t-shirt you would like to turn into a pillow and an item you would like to mend with visible stitches for the T-Shirt Pillow and Visible Mending workshop stations.
